I don’t understand how freeze dried food can taste so good. This is a meal that I would keep on hand just so I could eat when I’m in the mood for it. It’s so good.

The best backpacking dinner I have ever purchased. Awesome flavors and just the right portion size for a meal after a long day of hiking. Will absolutely buy more in the future.

I had misgivings about this one to be honest but it was fantastic. 6 stars. Hearty and filling. I figured since it was a soup that I would need to augment it for a solid stick to the ribs meal. I was wrong. You can't go wrong with Cascade Alpine. I've paid for every meal I've had from Cascade Alpine so this is not a free product review and will happily do so from here on.

1. The flavor was delicious and mildly spicy. I'm going to reorder it just based on the taste. So far it's my favorite chicken tortilla soup.
2. The packaging is not good for backpacking. It's good for cooking in a pot like when you're camping or even at home. I would recommend putting this in a gusseted mylar bag because this is very hot to handle and doesn't stand up.
3. The roof of my mouth was stabbed by a very sharp bone from the chicken. That was the only really negative thing about the soup. Please be more careful when deboning the chicken.

The Chicken Tortilla Soup. Oh man, is it GOOOOOOOD!!!!! It also seems so versatile with making it a little thicker and bringing along some tortillas, a little shredded cheese, and an avocado for a trail burrito that will knock you down with all the flavor. It even tastes amazing cold soaked for when you don't want to deal with your camp stove. This meal is easily my favorite from Cascade Alpine.

It’s delicious. If you gave it to me and never told me it was freeze dried I’d think it came out of a restaurant kitchen. The flavors are unreal and the texture is great. I wouldn’t get tired of this soup if I was eating it every day on trail.
